A6 Empowering ward based staff through front line process improvement

Format: Talk with questions and answers

This session is one of a pair with B6.

Two of the global healthcare community’s largest and most successful ward centred quality and efficiency improvement programmes (Transforming Care at the Bedside (TCAB) and the Productive Ward) share their experiences to show how process improvement at ward level engages and empowers staff to dramatically improve the quality of care for patients, while simultaneously improving staff vitality.

After this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the TCAB and Productive Ward programmes
  • Understand key strategies for engaging front-line staff to dramatically improve outcomes for patients and family members
  • Understand key strategies and frameworks for sustaining staff engagement in quality improvement
