Format: Talk with questions and answers

We will share a quality and safety framework developed for mental health care and show how tools such as clinical practice improvement (CPI) and the clinical review programme (CRP) can be used to improve access to care, reduce length of stay, increase adherence to medication, and reduce falls and aggressive behaviour in patients with severe mental illness.

After this session you will be able to:

  • Understand that achieving quality improvement and safety in mental and behavioural healthcare is complex
  • Understand how to develop a quality and safety framework for a mental healthcare.
  • Understand how tools such as CPI and CRP can be successfully used in mental health care
  • Discuss the unique challenges in benchmarking and auditing quality and safety in mental and behavioural health care
