M3 Apply Lean and Six Sigma to your own work processes to free up time

Format: Workshop (some individual/group work)

Lean and Six Sigma are increasingly being used to reduce waste and variation in clinical services, but have you thought about applying them to your own work processes as a leader? Hundreds of leadership teams in the National Health Service in England are now adopting these principles. The results show that by improving email and meetings management, and by adopting new personal working practices, an individual leader can save a day’s worth of ‘non-value adding’ time each week. This can be re-invested in more ‘value adding’ activities such as reflection, preparation and strategic planning. We will teach you their secrets!

After this course you will be able to:

  • Undertake a process to identify, analyse and reduce ‘non-value adding’ activities in your daily leadership work
  • Apply powerful change concepts to liberate yourself from email and meeting overload
  • Learn how to get better, more sustainable results by adopting thee principles at team and organisational levels, as well as individual level
  • Start changing your practices as soon as you return from the Forum
