David Williams, Executive Director, Institute for Healthcare improvement (IHI), is co-lead of Improvement Capability at IHI and a senior improvement advisor. He has served as the Improvement Advisor for large Breakthrough Series Collaboratives in the United States and Europe. Dr. Williams is faculty for the IHI Improvement Advisor Professional Development Program, IHI Open School, and the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) developed in collaboration with HarvardX. A paramedic by background, he is internationally known as an expert on paramedic care and emergency medical services systems. Fun Fact: He is creator of the Mr Potato Head PDSA exercise.
