Where will the Forum take place?

The Forum will take place at the Palais des Congrés des Paris, located at 2 Place de la Porte Maillot on the 17-20 April 2012.

Where can I find directions to the venue?

How much does it cost to attend?
Full registration fees are available online at http://internationalforum.bmj.com/registration. All fees are inclusive of French VAT at 19.6%.

What is included in my registration fee?
Access to all plenary sessions, poster reception*, welcome reception*, lunch and refreshments, access to the exhibition, online access to all materials after the event and certificate of attendance. *Available with 3 and 4 day packages only.

 

How can I register?

  • Complete the online booking form. You can pay by credit card or debit card.
  • Fax a completed registration form to 0207 554 6997. You can pay by credit card or debit card.
  • Post a completed registration form to BMJ Publishing Group Ltd, BMJ Learning, PO Box 295, London, WC1H 9TE. You can pay by cheque, credit card or debit card. *Please note, we are unable to invoice for individual registrations

Can I pay by American Express?
Although there is not the option to pay by American Express on the website, you can fill in the paper registration form and include your Amex details in the payment section.

How do I register a Group?
To register as a group there must be 3 or more delegates from the same organization, and all must attend 3 or 4 days of the Forum. Registration must be made online - click here to register a group.
*Invoicing is available for group registrations. The last day to request an invoice is Friday 16th March.

How do I request a receipt?
If you register online you will automatically be sent a receipt from Worldpay. If you have registered using another method and require a receipt please email events@bmjgroup.com

Are there any discounted rates?
There are two types of discounted rates that can be applied for. There are no further discounts or sponsorships available outside these categories. The discount will apply to the forum registration fee only, we are unable to help with travel, accommodation or other associated expenses.

Students:
There are a limited number of reduced price registration places for full time students to attend the Forum for the three main event days (Wednesday - Friday) at £72 per day (inclusive of 19.6% VAT). Please note that we do not offer any free or reduced places for the full day sessions taking place on Tuesday 17 April. To apply please visit internationalforum.bmj.com/2012-forum/students

Low and Middle income countries:
There are a limited number of reduced price registration places for delegates from low and middle income countries (please visit the world bank link to see if you are eligible) to attend the Forum for the three main event days (Wednesday - Friday) at a reduced rate. To apply please send details of your current role and the organisation that you work for, any quality and safety initiatives you are currently involved with, what you hope to achieve by attending the forum and how you will apply this to your work going forward along with proof of permanent residency (i.e. Passport) to events@bmjgroup.com.

How do I request an invitation letter?
Some visitors from non-European countries will require a visa to enter the France. Please check the requirements with your nearest French embassy or consulate.
We are only able to provide invitation letters to individuals who have registered and paid to attend the International Forum. If for any reason your Visa application was unsuccessful we will be able to refund your registration fee in line with our terms and conditions. If a letter of invitation is required to support your visa please contact us at events@bmjgroup.com

Is the Forum accredited?
We have been awarded 24 CPD credits for the full four days by the Royal College of Physicians, London. We are currently in the process of applying for European accreditation and we aim to receive 24 EACCME credits which can be converted to AMA PRA category 1 credits by contacting the AMA.

Will I receive a certificate of attendance?
Yes, all delegates will automatically receive a general certificate of attendance on completion of an online evaluation form which will be emailed to you after the event. If you require a CPD or EACCME certificate, you can indicate this onsite by signing the accreditation registers which will be displayed near the registration desk.

Where do I register at the venue?
Registration will take place in the Hall Mailot on Level 2. We recommend that delegates pre-register on Tuesday 17th April from 17:00 in order to beat the queues on Wednesday morning. Registration is open as follows:-

  • Tuesday 17th April: 08:00-09:00 (full day minicourse attendees only)
  • Tuesday 17th April: 17:00-19:00 (all attendees)
  • Wednesday 18th April: 07:30-19:00 (all attendees)
  • Thursday 19th April: 07:30-17:30 (all attendees)
  • Friday 20th April: 07:30-16:30 (all attendees)

You will be issued with your name badge when you register. Please be aware that you must wear your badge at all times during the Forum.

How can I organise a taxi?
The Hostess at the welcome desk can arrange taxis. In addition, there are a number of official taxi ranks in the town.

Is there car parking available?
There are car park spaces onsite. Any parking fees are NOT included in the registration fee

What should I wear to the Forum?
The dress code for the conference is smart-casual, and comfortable shoes are recommended. Daytime temperatures range from 7C to 15C in Paris in April.

Where will the next Forum be?
The 2013 Forum will be held in London at the Excel from 16-19 April 2013.

What is your policy if I decide to cancel my registration? 
From our Terms and conditions of Registration:
6. Cancellation, alterations losses and refunds
6.1 Transfers from one delegate to another for the booked conference will be permitted at any time upon written notice to BMJ Group.
6.2 Cancellation charges, for contracted bookings, are follows:
- If written notice is received within 20 or more working days before date of the event, a full refund will be given.
- If written notice is received between 8-19 working days before the date of the event, your fee will be refunded in full, less £250 administration charge. This administration charge will not apply if you have cancelled your booking within 7 days or less after our contract comes into effect (see Clause 2.2).
- If written notice is received within 7 days or less prior to the event, then there will be no entitlement to any refund.  This is because we will have had to confirm and in most cases had to pay for final numbers at the event and will have started performing our services.
6.3 It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the BMJ Group to alter the content and timing of the conference, the identity of the speaker, and/or the date or the venue. In the unlikely event of the conference being cancelled (as opposed to postponed), by BMJ Group we will refund you the registration fee but to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you for any other costs or losses, whether direct or indirect. This does not affect your statutory rights. In addition to the fullest extent permitted by law we will not be liable to you for any losses (whether direct or indirect) based on reliance on any content at event.
6.4 Notwithstanding the other provisions in this contract our liability shall be limited to the booking fee and we shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing within this contract shall be taken to exclude or limit our liability for death, personal injury, fraudulent misrepresentation or where such limitation of liability is otherwise not permitted by law.
