B7: Young People: Helping to Improve Health and Wellbeing in Scotland

2018 was the Year of Young People in Scotland and provided an opportunity to showcase the amazing contributions young people make every day up and down the country. Health and Wellbeing was identified as one of the key themes for the year – focusing on “supporting young people to lead healthier, active lives and have opportunities to learn about and improve their mental health and resilience”. This session, delivered by Young Scot, Scotland’s national youth information and citizenship charity, will explore the role young people are playing is improving health and wellbeing in Scotland, using real-life examples of young people’s projects to highlight the vital role young people play in shaping the services they and others engage with. The session will also focus on how Young Scot are using their co-design methodology to empower young people to take a lead in decision making around the future of health and social care services in Scotland.
