Madalina Toma

Dr Toma is a psychologist and health services researcher grounded in theories and methods found in the field of clinical psychology combined with knowledge of critical disability studies, implementation science and improvement research. Madalina’s research interests are driven by extensive hands-on experience in the community sector and focus around interrogating how uptake of best research evidence can improve care for the most vulnerable groups, including premature babies, children with emotional and behavioural conditions or older people with polypharmacy needs. Her methodological knowledge and expertise are mainly mixed methods, and consists of advanced skills in intervention design, cross-sectional surveys, instrument development, process evaluation, quality improvement methods, formal consensus approaches as well as various qualitative research methods, documentary analysis and evidence synthesis.
