Sir Muir Gray
Professor Sir Muir Gray joined the City of Oxford Health Department in 1972. The first phase of his career focused on disease prevention in old age, followed by development of the NHS screening programmes as well as services aimed at bringing knowledge to patients and professionals, including NHS Choices. He was instrumental in setting up the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine in Oxford and in 2008 co-founded the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare. He was Chief Knowledge Officer of the NHS in England and is now Director of the Value Based Healthcare programme at the University of Oxford.
