More than 30 years of experience in different aspects of healthcare services (Clinical, Academic and Administration), for the past 20 years Khawla become increasingly focused on healthcare systems improvement and patient safety. She initiated and participated in different quality improvement and patient safety programs: Infection Control, Risk Management, Patient Satisfaction, Hospital Quality and Patient Safety Programs.

Currently, Khawla is the Head of Training and Education at Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute / Hamad Medical Corporation where she leads different improvement capacity and capability building programs at HMC and national level.
