Business Development Lead, Amref Enterprises; Kenya

Mr. Peter Waiganjo is the Business Development Lead with Amref Enterprises tasked with proactively and systematically growing new business as a contributor through commercialization of the innovative health solutions conceptualized and developed within the organization while also developing, managing, and providing leadership in team performance and sales achievement. Peter is keen on applying knowledge on corporate and social entrepreneurship mechanisms and approaches for delivering sustainable social value at the community level.

Prior to Amref Health Africa, Peter worked in various capacities with Safaricom Limited, Excelsior & Wellness Groups, International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP) and Biodeal Laboratories Limited. Peter’s background training and experience cut across business development and management, programme management, biomedical and operational research skills, customer service leadership and health systems strengthening affording him excellent knowledge and understanding of health systems management and care delivery, pharmaceuticals, global public health, and information technology. He is well versed with community based health systems strengthening, Entrepreneurship & Innovations management, strategic networking and relationship
management, Human Resources for Health (HRH), clinical & health research as well as health financing. Peter also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management from Strathmore Business School, a BSc degree in Biochemistry from Egerton University and a host of other professional qualifications.
