Promoting the best possible start for children and families takes a whole system approach. By having a family centered focus \u2013 health care, the local community, school, social services and many more need to work in new integrated ways.<\/p><br><p>Together, we will explore and learn from three regional efforts, all taking a wide system approach on health and care, with a strong focus on what matters to the children and families.\u00a0<\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/gothenburg\/2021\/11\/19\/jesper-ekberg\/\">Jesper Ekberg<\/a>, The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) and Region J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping County; Sweden<\/p><br><p><strong>(Part A) Prescribed book reading \u2013 social investments enables development of new methods and cooperation<\/strong><\/p><br><p>County Council of G\u00e4vleborg uses social investments to encourage development of new preventive methods and enhance collaboration between actors. The goal is to achieve better outcomes for the targeted group &#8211; and to reduce societal costs in the longer term.<\/p><br><p>One example of a social investment applied in health care in G\u00e4vleborg is the social investment \u2018Prescribed book reading\u2019. It involves a reading intervention, targeting pre-school children with speech, language and communication needs. In this presentation, we will describe social investments, Prescribed book reading, and the encouraging results from its evaluation, which has led to implementation in ordinary care.<\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/gothenburg\/2021\/11\/19\/karin-myrberg\/\">Karin Myrberg<\/a>, County Council of G\u00e4vleborg; Sweden<\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/gothenburg\/2021\/11\/18\/emma-martensson\/\">Emma M\u00e5rtensson<\/a>, County Council of G\u00e4vleborg; Sweden<\/p><br><p><strong>(Part B) Equality and quality \u2013 meeting the needs of children and professionals throughout society<\/strong><\/p><br><p>Region Kronoberg, our eight municipalities, the Police and the idea-driven sector are co-creating an improved way of working with children and at the same time aiming to improve the way different services from the various public and private actors work, within different professions as well as with each other.<\/p><br><p>Support and help should be equal regardless of where the child is located, the nature of the childs needs or which parties are involved. Preventative and supportive measures are highlighted as well as reacting and acting quickly when problems arise and the need for structured cooperation when needed.<\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/gothenburg\/2021\/11\/18\/erika-lagergren\/\">Erika Lagergren<\/a>, Region Kronoberg; Sweden<\/p><br><p><strong>(Part C) \u201cEnding \u201cEnding Childhood obesity\u201d \u2013 changing society towards prevention obesity\u201d \u2013 Swelife\u2019s strategic project for system transformation<\/strong><\/p><br><p>Childhood obesity is coupled with complications causing significant consequences for the individual and society, yet it is largely preventable. It was therefore chosen as the subject of a pilot project on comprehensive change of society involving multiple actors and system transformation called \u201cEnding Childhood Obesity\u201d (ECHO).
