Dr Kadar Marikar is the CEO of Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH); the Malaysian Accreditation Organisation for Healthcare Facilities and Services since 2008. A physician by training with a post graduate degree in Hospital & Health Services Management (UK) and MPH and also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Currently he is a member of the ISQua Accreditation Council since 2004, ISQua Conference Chairperson, member of the ISQua papers review panel and an ISQua expert and surveyor.

Dr Marikar Serves the Ministry of Health Malaysia in various levels from Clinicians, Medical Directors and Head of Quality Standards Unit in the Ministry. He is involved directly in the development and implementation of the Malaysian Healthcare Accreditation Programme for hospitals since 1999, Medical Clinics since 2012 and Chronic Dialysis Treatment since 2013 and Dental Services in 2016. He has been instrumental in Malaysia’s move towards developing the “Patient for Patients Safety Movement” with the technical support from WHO since 2013. He is also the WHO Technical Consultant in patient for patients safety initiatives.
