Chien Earn Lee



Co-Chair of the Programme Advisory Committee & Chief Executive Officer, Changi General Hospital, Singapore

Dr Lee is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Changi General Hospital, an 800 bed public acute teaching hospital. Immediately prior to this appointment he was the Deputy Director of Medical Services for Health Services and Healthcare Performance in the Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore where he led the strategic development and improvement of healthcare services. His past appointments included Senior Director of Health Regulation where he oversaw the licensing and accreditation of healthcare institutions, clinical audit and biomedical research regulation as well as Head Health Services Finance (MOH) and Director Corporate Affairs Singapore General Hospital. Dr Lee is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore and a Salzburg Fellow. Dr Lee was a member of the Medishield Life Review Committee which is tasked to recommend enhancements to the national insurance programme and chaired the subcommittee on Universal Coverage. He currently also Chairs the Singapore Healthcare Improvement Network (SHINe). He is actively involved in education and is the Director of the Eastern Health Alliance Education Office and a member of the Residency Advisory Committee for Preventive Medicine. Dr Lee was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2011 and the Commendation Medal in 2003 by the Prime Minister’s Office. He was also awarded the Minister of Health Award for Public Health – Fusarium Keratitis Outbreak in 2006.
