In this dynamic opening session we will consider what our conference theme \u2018Together to regenerate health and care\u2019 means in practice.<\/p><br><p>ExCeL London sits in the heart of the thriving London Docklands community, a testament to the power of regeneration. East London has undergone a remarkable journey of rejuvenation and renewal, aided significantly by the London 2012 Olympics. Today, it stands as a vibrant, diverse, and resilient community.<\/p><br><p>This year&#8217;s International Forum draws inspiration from this remarkable transformation. We believe in the power of forging partnerships, leading with empathy, and cultivating trust and safety. We are committed to addressing the social determinants of health, recognizing that true progress in health outcomes requires tackling the root causes.<\/p><br><p>We\u2019ll begin our opening keynote with a performance from a local community group, hear from the co-chairs of the programme planning committee and and finish with an inspiring presentation from Kedar Mate, President and CEO of Institute for Healthcare Improvement<\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/london\/2024\/01\/23\/kevin-fenton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Kevin Fenton<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a senior public health expert and infectious disease epidemiologist, who has worked in a variety of public health executive leadership roles across government and academia in the UK and internationally, including taking a leading role in London\u2019s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was awarded a CBE in the 2022 New Year honours list for services to public health<\/span><\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/london\/2024\/02\/14\/joseph-lyons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Joseph Lyons<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is Chief Executive Officer at West Ham United Foundation. As the club\u2019s community outreach vehicle, The Foundation harnesses the power of elite sport to make a real difference in people\u2019s lives; responding to local needs, uniting our community and providing an environment for all to thrive.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/london\/2024\/02\/14\/marie-gabriel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Marie Gabriel <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is Chair of the NHS North East London Integrated Care System and Chair of the NHS Race and Health Observatory. Marie\u2019s contribution to the NHS was recognised through the award of her CBE, her contribution to her local community by the award of Freedom of the London Borough of Newham and her contribution to football by inclusion on the Premier League\u2019s Black Power List.<\/span><\/p><br><p><a href=\"https:\/\/internationalforum.bmj.com\/london\/2024\/01\/18\/kedar-mate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Kedar Mate<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is President and Chief Executive Officer at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), President of the IHI Lucian Leape Institute, and a member of the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College.
