Launch of the International Forum New Delhi postponed

We will be assessing the possibility of an International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in South Asia at a later date.

Launch postponement

We continue to be mindful of the safety and capacity of our audience and supporters in South Asia to engage in the delivery and attendance of this International Forum.

We have made the decision not to hold any face-to-face International Forum events in 2021 and run a virtual programme instead. We encourage participation in our regional virtual events in Europe, Asia and Australasia from across all countries.

We will be assessing the possibility of an International Forum in South Asia at a later date.

About the International Forum New Delhi and its organisers

For decades, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and BMJ have been world-renowned leaders in healthcare improvement, teaching proven methodologies for improving quality and safety in healthcare and providing opportunities to debate and share knowledge.

IHI and BMJ planned to bring in July 2020 their combined experience and expertise to New Delhi for a two-day conference for healthcare professionals in South Asia who are passionate about improving outcomes for their patients and communities.

This exciting new conference was designed to address the unique challenges faced by the health care community living and working in India and the wider region of South Asia.

Watch the recorded sessions from our virtual workshops in 2020

In July and August 2020 we held a series of free virtual workshops built around content originally scheduled for presentation at the International Forum in July 2020.

The workshops addressed topics such as improving safety post pandemic, the leadership challenges during the pandemic, and how to do more with less.

Workshop 1: Improving safety post pandemic

The pandemic has raised many important questions about safety in health and care systems, from infection control through to the new challenges in the way we interact with patients and colleagues. In this session, our expert speakers discussed how we can learn from the successes and failures experienced to develop stronger cultures of safety for the future.
