The three pillars of the AFMC\u2019s strategic plan are Education, Research and Social Accountability and Connie works closely with the 18 faculties of medicine in Canada to advance each of these portfolios nationally. In research, our focus at the AFMC has been on developing strategies for increased research funding for the Clinical Investigators\u2019 Program and the MD-PhD programs, supporting graduate learners and advocating for the importance of research investment for the continued advancement of science in Canada.<\/p><br><br><p>Connie is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Dalhousie University; holds a Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum Studies and an Executive Masters\u2019 in Business Administration and Technology. She is a recent recipient of a certification in Diversity as a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional.
