Options to attend the International Forum Sydney 2021

While we are hopeful that this International Forum will be able to take place as a face to face conference, we are mindful of the continuing challenges posed by COVID-19, and as such we will be providing the opportunity to attend virtually in addition to the option of attending in person.

2020 has proven to be a very difficult year due to COVID-19 and we, alongside many others, had to adapt to the new normal brought in by the pandemic so that we continue to offer you the opportunities, learning and experiences that our delegates expect from us.

We will keep you updated as we finalise our plans over the next couple of months.

In the meantime, registration for face to face attendance is open and Early Bird face to face rates remain available.

Virtual packages will be launched in later 2020.

Registration and payment

The International Forum will now take place as a face to face and virtual conference on 7-9 June 2021 at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Early Bird registration is open until 14 April 2021 and virtual packages will be introduced in late 2020.

Types of face to face registration

Our individual and group face to face rates are applicable to all face to face delegates, with special discounts available for:

  • Students in full-time education
  • Residents of Lower Middle Income Countries (LMCs) and Low Income Countries (LICs)

See all face to face rates below.

Registration and payment

All bookings should be made online. Prices are in US dollars (US$) and Australian dollars (A$), an additional 10% for GST will be added to the final price. You may pay using either currency.

Please note that payment for the individual registrations must be made by credit/debit card or by cheque. We can only issue an invoice for groups of 5 or more delegates.

Booking as a group

Groups can save between 10% and 15% on individual delegate rates and accelerate their learning as a team. Booking as part of a group does not only allow you to save on your delegate fees but also gives an opportunity to maximise your experience and your organisation’s exposure at the International Forum.

  • Group savings apply when a minimum of 5 or more individuals from the same organisation register at the same time
  • Group bookings are available for the 2 day (Tues-Wed) or 3 day (Mon-Wed) packages only and must be made online

For bespoke packages for larger groups (50+ delegates), please email Warren Lee, Manager for Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, on wlee@bmj.com.

While we welcome group bookings for face to face attendance, we are also working on our virtual group attendance options and these will be shared in late 2020.

Student Scholarships

We are offering discounted registration places for full-time students to attend the International Forum face to face.

There are a limited number of discounted registration places for full-time students and these will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. The discount will apply to the International Forum registration fee only. We are unable to help with travel, accommodation or other associated expenses.

To apply for the discounted student face to face rate, please send one of the following to Emily Dobie at edobie@bmj.com:

  • A copy of your student card which clearly displays the date of validity in numerical form
  • An official letter issued by the Dean of your university which confirms you will be in full-time education at the time of the conference (Monday 7 – Wednesday 9 June 2021)
  • If your application is successful you will be provided with further instructions on how to register with our student rates

We will share further details around attending Sydney 2021 as a student virtually in late 2020.

Face to face rates for Lower Middle Income and Low Income Countries

We do have a limited number of face to face places for delegates who are residents of and working in low income countries and lower middle income countries to attend the International Forum for the two or three day event at a reduced registration rate. Only delegates from low income (LICs) and lower middle income (LMCs) countries qualify for our discounted rates. Please check the World Bank country classification to see if you are eligible.

Please note that these discounts are applicable to our standard individual face to face registration fees only and are not applicable for travel, accommodation or other costs associated with attending the International Forum in person.

How to register

There is no application process.

When registering, please select to register as a delegate and enter your full address on the booking details page as this will be used to verify your registration.

The discounted rate will be automatically applied when you choose a country listed as LMC or LIC on the World Bank country classification list while filling in your personal details.

As allocated places are limited, discounts will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. You may be contacted to provide proof of residency.

Further details around attending Sydney 2021 virtually will be shared in late 2020.
