Our response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
In view of the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world, including in Sydney, we have made the very difficult decision to reschedule the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare.
The conference will now be taking place on Monday 7 – Wednesday 9 June 2021. We hope that you will be able to join us then.
Why have we made the decision to reschedule?
The International Forum is one of the leading events of its kind in the world, and the rescheduling of this important conference has been taken in the best interests of all delegates, participants and the wider public.
Both the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and BMJ strive to improve healthcare and outcomes for patients and communities. The decision to reschedule this much anticipated International Forum supports the global efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The International Forum family consists of healthcare professionals, students, patients, carers and service users from around the world and we know that many lives have been and continue to be impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We are mindful of our duty of care to all the healthcare workers expected to attend the International Forum and those they will be in contact with including their patients. Our primary concern is for the health and welfare of all our participants and staff, as well as the wider community.
We are also aware that many of you will be on the frontline of facing this outbreak, and our thoughts are with you in these challenging times.
What happens next?
All registered delegates and other supporters of the International Forum will have the option to transfer to the rescheduled conference or request a full refund.
Your registration will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled conference on Monday 7 – Wednesday 9 June 2021. If you would like to request a refund, please contact email@example.com

If you have already booked travel and accommodation we advise you to contact your travel insurance provider in the first instance. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for travel or accommodation costs. A number of airlines are offering more flexible policies in light of the situation and may allow you to cancel or transfer your flights.
