Find the answer to some frequently asked questions about changes to the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Sydney.


  • Do I need to do anything to have my registration transferred to the June 2021 dates?

    Your registration will be automatically transferred to the new event dates. You do not need to do anything for this to be actioned. 

  • I am unable to attend in June 2021, how do I request a refund?

    Please send your refund request to events@bmj.com.

  • What are the terms if I need to cancel my registration at a later date?

    If you are unable to attend you should inform us in writing (events@bmj.com).

    If written notice is received more than six weeks before the Event (i.e. on or before 26 April 2021), a full refund will be given. If written notice is received between six and four weeks before the Event (i.e. 27 April 2021 – 10 May 2021), your payment will be refunded in full, less an administration charge of £250. If we receive written notice to cancel less than four weeks before the Event (i.e. on or after 11 May 2021) there will be no entitlement to any refund.

  • I am not able to attend in June 2021, can I transfer my registration to a colleague?

    Yes, you can do this at any point. To do this please email events@bmj.com with the name and email address of the person you are transferring the registration to.

  • I am not able to attend in June 2021, can I transfer my registration to another International Forum?

    Your transferred registration is valid for the June 2021 Sydney International Forum. If you are unable to attend in June you may either transfer your registration to a colleague or request a full refund on or before 26 April 2021. 

  • Will the programme change? When will the new programme be announced?

    Yes, we will update the programme to ensure the content is relevant in June 2021. We will run a new call for speakers and the dates for this will be announced shortly. An updated programme will be launched by the end of this year.

  • Will I need to select my sessions again?

    The sessions you previously selected may change. Once we have confirmed the updated programme we will send you a link to update your session choices. 

  • When do I have to confirm whether I will attend in June 2021?

    We understand that we are still in an uncertain period so if you are unsure which the best option for you is, you can choose to transfer your registration now, but will still have the option of cancelling and receiving a refund on your delegate fee up until 26 April 2021.

  • What will happen if mass gatherings are still restricted in Sydney in June 2021?

    If the event is unable to go ahead due to continued restrictions on mass gatherings we will contact all delegates and provide an update.

  • Will my poster submission automatically be transferred to the rescheduled event?

    Yes, if you have submitted a poster already, this will automatically be transferred to the June 2021 dates.

  • Can I still submit a poster abstract for the International Forum Sydney in June 2021?

    Yes, we have extended the Call for Posters deadline until Wednesday 10 February 2021.

  • If there has been any changes to the project I’ve already submitted, do I need to update you?

    If you would like to amend your abstract, please re-submit an updated version and contact events@bmj.com to request for your old abstract to be withdrawn.

  • If I have already submitted an abstract, when will I receive the results?

    As we have extended the Call for Posters deadline, we will review all submissions in February 2021 and send the results to all authors by the end of March 2021.

  • I can no longer attend, can someone else present the poster on my behalf?

    If you can’t attend to present your poster and someone else will be bringing it, please let us know by emailing events@bmj.com. This will ensure that we have a space for the poster display. Please include the full abstract title and the name, email address and organisation for your replacement presenter.

    Please note that your replacement presenter cannot be already presenting a poster of their own. We have a strict policy of one poster display per presenter.

  • When will registration be open if I have not previously registered?

    Registration is now open for the new dates. Please click here to register.

  • What are the registration fees?

  • When will the Early Bird registration end?

    The Early Bird deadline will be Wednesday 14 April 2021.

  • If at a later date I am no longer able to attend what are your cancellation terms?
