She lost her youngest son Samuel to suicide, aged 17, on 2nd September 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Suzanne is driven to create positive change as a legacy to her son. She has used her lived experience of suicide loss and caring for a child with complex mental health challenges to influence change across the health, care and justice system, in both suicide prevention and postvention. Suzanne has created a community movement, bringing connection and hope in the darkest of times.
