Head of Improvement Programme – Children and Young People, Collaborative Scottish Government

Susan has a background in high care nursing and was the lead for patient safety and clinical improvement in a Scottish health system with a focus on improving patient safety. She trained as an Improvement Advisor with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement prior to joining the Scottish Government five years ago. In her current role, Susan is Head of the Children and Young People Improvement Collaborative, a national programme which brings together improvement communities from health and children’s services. This multiagency collaborative includes all local authority areas and health boards in Scotland and improvement activity spans the child’s journey from pre-birth to 18 years.
