Melissa Knihtila is a Project Manager at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. She has supported IHI Strategic Partners as they work on ambulatory care redesign, programs focused on high-risk/high-cost populations, and improving surgical safety. She also manages relationships and contracts with IHI’s partners that are working on international innovation, with a focus on analysis of what makes the transfer of innovations successful. Prior to coming to IHI, Ms. Knihtila served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, which fueled her interest in IHI’s person- and family-centered care work. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Medical Anthropology at Creighton University.
