Anat Zohar

Deputy Director General of the Quality, Patient Safety, and Service Administration in the Ministry of Health; Israel
Anat Akka Zohar received her BSN in 1999, graduating with honors (cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She completed a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2003, again graduating with honors (cum laude). In 2011, she earned her PhD at the Braun School of Public Health at Hebrew University. Dr. Akka Zohar conducted epidemiological studies on quality in healthcare for both her Master’s and PhD degrees. She joined the Department Of Health Services Research at the Ministry of Health as an epidemiologist (2002) while completing her MPH. Since 2010, Dr. Akka Zohar has conducted national studies evaluating outcome and process indicators in the field of quality of care. Dr. Zohar is currently the Deputy Director General of the Quality, Patient Safety, and Service Administration in the Ministry of Health. Her work includes heading the Israeli Hospital Quality Indicators Program (founded by Dr. Zohar in 2012), leading national patient experience surveys, and implementing national patient safety models.
