B5: Writing for publication – how to write an abstract and share the lessons of your work

Friday, 25th August
14:15-15:30

In this interactive session, participants will describe their own quality improvement work and, with colleagues, will identify key messages and lessons of interest and potential use to others. From these accounts, using a structured framework, participants will write about the key points. Finally by sharing ideas and others’ reflections, participants as authors will modify their messages and produce a first draft quality improvement abstract and plan the next steps of writing about their work.

After this session you will:

  • Be able to write you your QI projects using a structured framework suitable for publication

  • Demonstrate improved understanding of what others will gain from reading your work

  • Reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of your QI work through discussion with colleagues
