Ms Brenda Zhuang is a Manager in Clinical Standards and Improvement Department, Office of Clinical Governance, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). She is actively involved in the area of medication safety, clinical quality and audit. She serves in a number of committees in the hospital including Medication Safety Committee, Medication Safety Oversight Workgroup and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Steering Committee. Brenda is also a program manager of the Singapore Healthcare Improvement Network (SHINe) for TTSH since Apr 2014, working on hypoglycaemic agents’ safety and the prevention of catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI). Together with the TTSH teams, Brenda has led the implementation and spread of DM medication safety and prevention of CAUTI interventions across 39 inpatient wards.

Prior to joining the clinical standards and improvement department, Brenda worked as a pharmacist for 7 years. She has attained a Masters in Clinical Pharmacy with Queen’s University Belfast. Her special interest lies in the safe use of chemotherapeutic agents. She was a key player in the design and implementation of digital chemotherapy order templates across the medical oncology and haematology departments in TTSH.
