Tuesday 10 March 2026 | 11:00-12:00
Stream: Science
Session format: Presentation
Developing a Quality Management System (QMS) can be one of the most powerful ways to improve safety, reliability, and outcomes across your organisation, but it’s also easy to fall into common traps that limit progress. In this session, IHI faculty and partners share real-world lessons from organisations that have redesigned or revitalised their QMS. Participants will explore what distinguishes a living, learning system from one that simply measures compliance, and discover practical strategies for aligning improvement, assurance, and daily management to sustain results over time.
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Learn practical ways to align improvement, assurance and planning to support lasting improvement.
- Understand how to keep a focus on short term delivery whilst changing leadership and management systems of the organisation.
- Learn from experienced improvers who can guide your QMS journey and help to avoid the pitfalls.
