Dr. Fredrik Bååthe is a senior project leader and researcher at the Institute for Studies of the Medical Profession in Oslo. With a PhD in Medical Sciences and a background in engineering and management, he integrates systems thinking and people-centred approaches to co-create sustainable improvements in healthcare. Fredrik Bååthe applies interactive research methods, working closely with clinicians, leaders, and students to design research-informed, practice-grounded solutions to complex challenges, focusing a more sustainable and healthy work environment. His recent work explores how professional fulfilment, patient care quality, and financial sustainability can be achieved simultaneously. Formerly head of an emergency department, and with leadership roles in both public health and global high-tech sectors, he brings a deep understanding of change across contexts. Fredrik Bååthe is committed to bridging research and practice and has presented internationally on physician engagement, salutogenic systems, and learning environments that support well-being and sustainable healthcare performance.
