Co-presenter Zachary Psick is a formerly incarcerated public scholar with invaluable lived experience and sociological expertise at the intersection of the criminal legal and healthcare systems. His research focuses on mass incarceration, healthcare access, and the experiences of system-impacted people, providing a critical perspective on how institutional decisions can disproportionately affect vulnerable populations. Zachary brings insight into the importance of including people from marginalized communities in healthcare decision-making processes to improve outcomes. Zachary will co-lead this session, sharing his personal experiences and sociological insights to emphasize the role of inclusive decision making in fostering equitable, effective, and patient-centered quality improvement efforts in healthcare settings.
