D4: Is one Quality Management System translatable to different countries? Lessons on facilitators and barriers from Australia, Belgium, Canada & Norway
Wednesday 11 March 2026 | 10:45-11:45
Stream: Change
Many organisations and/or regions are developing Quality Management Systems (QMS). But do we really have to re-invent the wheel or can we just translate one core QMS to a different context?
In this provocative session, we will learn from Australia, Belgium, Canada and Norway. Leaders from these four countries are exploring how one core QMS, based on Juran’s trilogy and upgraded by quality leadership and quality culture dimensions, can be integrated in their four contexts. We will also hear reflections from the session’s chair, who will share how quality management is being used in Scotland in an ever-changing environment.
If you recognise this challenge and also sometimes feel you are re-inventing the wheel, than this session is for you. We will clearly describe our lessons on the facilitators and barriers we are experiencing, we will create a lively discussion and we will launch a community of practice to share further ideas.
