Dr John Fitzsimons is a general paediatrician with a special interest in children’s allergy. He has trained in Ireland, UK and Australia. He has a strong interest in teaching and training in paediatrics and is an honorary associate clinical Professor with the RCSI.
He also works with the HSE and the RCPI in the field of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety support and education. His research interests include paediatric allergy, Patient Safety and Human Factors including paediatric early warning systems (PEWS). He is an editor of the Oxford Handbook of Patient Safety published in 2022.
