Rachel MacDonell is a Programme Manager for Quality Improvement with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI). Formerly a paediatric resuscitation specialist, she led the national design and implementation of the Irish Paediatric Early Warning System (2014–2018). Rachel manages several national quality improvement programmes, including ten iterations of a huddle implementation collaborative, the Irish COPD collaborative and a health and social care improvement programme currently in its second cohort. She is a founder of PAIRS Group, delivering sustainable paediatric resuscitation and patient safety training in low- and middle-income countries, and is currently completing the HSE Quality Coach programme.
