Dr Gerald Chua was formerly the Chairman, Medical Board of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He is a Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine and a Clinical Associate Professor appointed by NUS School of Medicine.

His educational interests are in crisis resource management in acute care, medical professionalism and cognitive error in clinical decision making.

In 2024 Dr Chua was awarded the Outstanding Clinician Educator Award at the National Medical Excellence Awards (Singapore).

For over 25 years of service to public healthcare he was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2020. For significant leadership and outstanding contributions during Singapore’s fight against COVID-19, he was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (COVID-19) in 2022 and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal in 2023.
