Yaroslav Diakunchak

Yaroslav Diakunchak is a family physician from Brovary, Kyiv region, Ukraine, and has been practicing family medicine around 16 years. At the beginning of the Russian invasion Yaroslav continued to provide medical care to his patients. But then, when Russian forces came close to his city and the danger of direct attack increased, he decided to move with his loved ones Lviv in Western Ukraine. There he began to help his colleagues with Casualty Care Trainings and managing with the humanitarian aid, while also keeping in touch with his patients.
Yaroslav previously presented at the International Forum of Quality and Safety in Healthcare, Amsterdam on his experience of using BMJ Learning and BMJ Best Practice CDS Tools in his daily practice, and participated in the Virtual Toronto International Program to Strengthen Family Medicine and Primary Care (V-TIPS 2021). Yaroslav is the author of articles titled “Emotional Intelligence and Communication skills in practice of Family Doctor”, “Five ways to improve medical practice from a perspective of a Family Doctor”, and “Five ways to make better clinical decisions”. His special interests are in Continuing Professional Development, Communication Skills in Medicine, Leadership in Medicine, Palliative Care, patient – centered and holistic approach in medicine.
