Jointly organised by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and BMJ, the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare has a rich history of supporting and energising the international movement for health and care improvement.
With over 5000 improvers attending the International Forum conferences every year, this is the place to hear and meet some of the world’s brightest minds and to forge relationships that drive improvement and innovation in health and care across the world.
The International Forum in Brisbane, Australia will focus on the key themes in health and care in the region while bringing in perspectives and knowledge from around the world.

Call for Posters is now open
Each year, the International Forums across the world host a multitude of poster displays. These highlight a range of improvement and safety projects implemented in various local, national, or global settings.
Accessible both onsite and online, the poster displays serve as beacons of inspiration and learning for all attendees.
If you have a project you’d like to showcase on a global stage, then securing a poster display in Brisbane could be that opportunity.

Looking ahead at Brisbane 2024
Attending the International Forum is an inspiring experience and one that many look forward to as the one gathering of like-minded people that they must go to each year.
We gathered almost 1,300 improvers from 26 countries in Melbourne in 2023. They spent some fantastic 3 days having meaningful conversations about creating a healthier life, a fairer system and a sustainable future in health and care.
And now, we are excited to be taking the International Forum to Brisbane, Australia on 6-8 November 2024 to continue generating new ideas that accelerate progress towards a better, equitable and sustainable care for all.
