Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) is the national government body responsible for leading and coordinating improvements to healthcare safety and quality. The Commission works in partnership with patients, carers, clinicians, the Australian, state and territory health systems, the private sector, managers and healthcare organisations to achieve a safe, high-quality and sustainable health system.
Clinical Excellence Commission
The primary focus of the CEC has been to promote and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system, and to meet functions specified by the Minister for Health. Monitoring processes and performance, to provide assurance of clinical quality and safety improvement at a system-wide level, has been a central and distinct role of the CEC. The CEC has gained local, national and international recognition by developing and driving programs and initiatives in collaboration with clinicians, managers, consumers and health service partners.
Clinical Excellence Queensland
Queensland Health’s Clinical Excellence Queensland partners with health services, clinicians and consumers to drive measurable improvements in patient care through its continual pursuit of safety, quality and overall excellence. Priority areas include clinician engagement; service improvement; clinical workforce development; governance; integrating care; patient experience; safety and quality; measuring care and the digital agenda.
Health Care Consumers’ Association
Health Care Consumers’ Association of the ACT (HCCA) is the peak health consumer organisation in the ACT. We work to improve the quality and safety of health services and advocate for health equity for people living in the Canberra region.
HCCA supports consumers to have a say in the design and delivery of health care and represents the needs and priorities of consumers to the ACT Government and health services.
PHN National Improvement Network Collaborative
PHN National Improvement Network Collaboration (NINCo) established in 2018, is a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing quality improvement (QI) in Australia’s primary healthcare. By fostering collaboration across 31 Primary Health Networks (PHNs), the collaborative provides a nationally recognised, consistent evidence-based approach to continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, standardisation and innovation to enhance capability building across Australia’s PHNs. The objective is to build a resilient, data-driven healthcare system that consistently delivers improved patient outcomes. Through comprehensive training programs, evidence-based QI, and a strong emphasis on sustainability, NINCo is building capability for healthcare improvement nationwide.
Northern Territory Department of Health
Northern Territory Department of Health’s key focus is to achieve the best health and wellbeing for all Territorians through the development, management and performance of the public health system. The Department of Health is responsible for strategic leadership and funding; system-wide policy development and planning; and system governance, performance and accountability.
Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA)
The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators – RACMA – is the only specialist medical college that trains doctors to become specialist medical leaders and managers. Our education programs, including our accredited flagship Fellowship Training Program, are aimed at equipping doctors with the leadership and management skills needed to influence and lead Australasian health care systems with the clear aim of improving health outcomes for all peoples of Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and Asia Pacific.
