Dr Sim Guek Gwee has been working in Changi General Hospital Emergency Department as an Emergency Medicine specialist since 2012. Besides her work as full time clinical staff, Dr Sim is the director of EM risk management & Safety and deputy director of EM research and quality assurance within her department. At the institutional level, Dr Sim is a member of the Medication Safety Committee and member of the Developing Value for our Population Working Committee.
 
Dr Sim has conducted research and presented her findings at both local and overseas conferences. Research topics vary from clinical conditions, education and assessment methods to quality improvement projects.

Outside of work, Dr Sim was awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award in 2019 in recognition of her volunteer work with several VWOs, helping to run regular free medical clinics locally as well as participating in overseas medical missions.
