Kate specialises in the design thinking processes and facilitation of large scale transformation programmes across health and care systems, and has key skill in developing and supports large communities to deliver change. She started nursing aged 16 as a Cadet Nurse at Grimsby Hospital; she went on to complete her training at Bristol doing a BSc Hon in nursing, and then her MSc in advanced nursing and MPhil at Nottingham looking at Discharge Planning from Acute Hospitals.

Before joining Horizons in 2014 Kate worked as a Quality Improvement Lead at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) where she led many large change programmes, including the emergency pathway redesign and imaging pathways. As the Collaborative Manager Kate works on a national improvement programme focusing on Continuing Healthcare, she is also involved in The School for Change Agents, and The Perceptions of Nursing.
