David Hall

Consultant psychiatrist, Clinical lead, Scottish Patient Safety Programme; Scotland

Dr David Hall has been a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Manager in Dumfries for 24 years and has lead National Mental Health change programmes across Scotland for the last 12 years.

He is Clinical lead for the Scottish Patient Safety Programme and is a member of the RCPsych Patient Safety Group, and has contributed to a number of International Quality Improvement initiatives, including in Denmark, Australia and New Zealand. He is an IHI Faculty member. He has carried out a range of published research – including the epidemiology of suicide and para-suicide, and aetiology and management of psychosis.
He has extensive experience of presenting at major conferences nationally and internationally.

He is now a Member of the Board of Management of the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland, with ongoing commitment to improve mental health services.
