Consultant Intensivist & Medical Chief Quality Officer, Albert Schweitzer Hospital


Since 2001 Ralph is working as a consultant intensivist at the Albert Schweitzer hospital, one of the largest non-academic teaching hospitals in Dordrecht, the Netherlands. In 2009 he was also assigned as medical Chief Quality Officer of the department of Quality, Safety & Innovation at the same hospital.


In 2013 he co-founded the National Platform of medical Patient Safety Officers (as part of the Dutch Association of Medical Specialists) of which he has been chairman since 2017. In 2019 he completed a Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) degree at Dartmouth College, Hanover (NH), USA.


In 2021 he co-founded the Dutch Society of Personalized Care, which aims to spread and develop personalized healthcare His expertise is on Quality and Safety in general and Rapid Response Systems, Learning from incidents, Human resource management for medical specialists specific.
