The International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare
For over 25 years, the International Forum has been a platform for healthcare professionals to connect, share learning and innovative ideas, and discuss effective approaches to quality and safety improvement.
At our International Forums, we inform and inspire healthcare leaders, practitioners and patients towards a better, safer and higher quality of care. You will have the chance to advance your learning of quality improvement methodologies, share and deliberate ideas that can improve outcomes for your patients and communities.
At Gothenburg 2022, you will hear about the key themes in healthcare in Europe and you will consider how perspectives from around the world can support and inspire solutions to global and regional challenges.
Our return to a face-to-face conference
One of our most memorable International Forums was in Sweden back in 2016, where we welcomed over 3,000 attendees from all over the world. We are excited to be returning to Gothenburg in 2022 with what we are hoping to be our first in-person conference since 2019.
We look forward to continuing the discussions from 2021 and showcasing the most innovative improvement and patient safety initiatives from Europe and beyond.
As the global pandemic is still an unprecedented challenge in many countries around the world, we will continue to work with the conference venue and follow advice from the relevant governments and authorities to ensure that the conference is delivered safely for all attendees, speakers, staff, and supporters.
We are also working on plans for virtual attendance in addition to the in-person option. We will share these plans as soon as we finalise them.
Call for Speakers is open
Would you like to join our speaker line-up in 2022?
Our speakers showcase the impact of innovative projects, run practical and interactive workshops, or overall inspire a new way of thinking. We welcome speaker applications from across the healthcare sector and beyond, including non-clinicians, patients and carers, voluntary/social sector employees, students. We also welcome first-time presenters.

Our International Forums in 2021
In 2021, all our International Forums would be delivered as virtual conferences and you have the chance to join one or more of them, taking advantage of our packages for multiple attendances.
The three International Forums taking place in 2021 will focus on the key themes in quality improvement and patient safety, beyond the pandemic, in Europe, Asia and Australasia. We will discuss these themes throughout the year and consider different regional perspectives.
Joining us for one or more of our virtual conferences will help you keep connected, continue learning throughout the year and hear, as well as share, different viewpoints and evidence.
