Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System; India

Dr.Ravindran started his Ophthalmology Practice under Dr.G.Venkataswamy, the Founder of Aravind Eye Care System in 1987. From this beginning, Dr.Ravindran has been involved in starting several of the Aravind Eye Hospitals for close to 23 years and became Chairman of Aravind Eye Care System in 2010. He is involved in bringing changes to standardize “quality of care” across Aravind eye care system. Apart from managing and mentoring the key leaders of the institution, his field of interest includes capacity Building of other eye hospitals. Has over sixty publications in national and international ophthalmology journals. He served as a Regional Co Chair for IAPB (International Association for Prevention of Blindness) from 2004 to 2012 and as a board member of VISION 2020 Right to Sight India from 2008 to 2020. He was also served as a member in several committees constituted by the “National Program for Prevention of Blindness” to improve and promote eye care in India for the last 12 years.
