A deep dive into the ‘what matters most and what does it take to lead equity?’ This session will delve into the critical issues of racism and cultural competency within the healthcare system. Through personal experiences and expert insights, Tania and Debbie will provide a thought-provoking exploration of these complex topics.



  • Tania will share her personal journey and how her experiences with racism within the healthcare system have shaped her advocacy work.

  • Debbie will discuss the importance of culturally anchored services and the need for healthcare professionals to be culturally responsive in order to adapt and interact effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

  • Both speakers will address the systemic challenges faced by marginalised communities and the importance of advocating for change.

  • The session will focus on creating a safe and inclusive environment for open dialogue about difficult topics
