Part A: IT, AI, Big Data – friends or foes for safe and quality care?

This session will explore the digitization of healthcare in the Hospital Authority, Hong Kong, and the development of Clinical Management System/ePatient Records as an indispensible technology to support care delivery and enable better quality, safety & efficiency.

As a second focus, we will consider how Big Data can drive further improvements, including AI, concurrent safety checks, and so forth.

Finally, we will take a look at how IT can drive new service models and patient engagement (such as HA Go and multifunction Apps for patient).

After this session, participants will be able to:
See how Hong Kong is utilising IT and AI to enhance safe and patient-centred care across the whole public healthcare sector
See how Big Data can drive quality improvement.
