Addressing racial inequalities in maternal and neonatal care in England – outcomes from the RHO & IHI Learning and Action Network

Join the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and NHS Race and Health Observatory to learn how to address racial inequalities in maternal and neonatal health. A Learning and Action Network was recently completed across ten teams in England that focused on four clinical areas: preterm birth, post-partum haemorrhage, gestational diabetes, and perinatal mental health. You will hear from an expert panel of LAN participants and coaches and take away practical tips on how to take forward improvement in maternal and neonatal care with an equity lens.

In this session, participants will:

  • Utilise and apply theory of change to tackle racial inequalities in maternal and neonatal health

  • Apply tested changes to their own contexts to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes

  • Share and apply anti-racist principles to quality improvement initiatives and day-to-day practices
