NHS Executive; Wales

Alan Lawrie is currently National Programme Advisor for Primary Care working with the Strategic Programme for Primary Care. Alan was previously a Chief Operating Officer in Cwm Taf Morgannwg and has over 25 years’ experience as an Executive Director in the NHS across the UK. Alan’s passion though is the primary and community care agenda and has a specific interest in population health management and early intervention and self-management as key part of this moving forward in health services in Wales. Alan was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in June 2023 and as a result undertook the Diabetes Self-Management course through EPP Cymru. He described this as exemplary and was so enthused that he has become a volunteer tutor as well as managing his diabetes much better.
