Suzanne Howes
Lived Experience of child suicide loss, nurse and OD specialist; England
Suzanne Howes has a background as an NHS nurse and Organisational Development Specialist. She lost her youngest son Samuel to suicide, aged 17, on 2nd September 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Suzanne is driven to create positive change as a legacy to her son. She has used her lived experience of suicide loss and caring for a child with complex mental health challenges to influence change across the health, care and justice system, in both suicide prevention and postvention. Suzanne has created a community movement, bringing connection and hope in the darkest of times. Suzanne is a Trustee of the charity Quinn’s Retreat, based in the North East.
