Iris Reijmerink is a medical doctor and recently graduated PhD researcher from the University Medical Centre of Groningen, the Netherlands. She completed her PhD in March this year, focusing on healthcare worker well-being, with an emphasis on understanding the interconnected factors of stress, fatigue, and performance variability in healthcare professionals. Her research explored how these elements influence surgeon performance and overall well-being, while also examining the perspectives and practices of organizational and system entities in promoting healthcare worker wellness.


Currently, Iris works as a medical doctor in the Department of Surgery at St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein. In addition to her clinical work, she aims to continue her research as a post-doctoral researcher. Iris has shared her findings at several international conferences, including leading a sold-out interactive session with Jop Groeneweg at the 2024 International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in London.
