Yolanda Walsh

Yolanda Walsh is a critical care nurse specialist with 15 years of experience in patient safety and healthcare quality improvement. She is currently an independent healthcare improvement consultant and works with a multitude of healthcare facilities throughout Southern Africa where she advises on diverse improvement projects. Yolanda has a passion for improving failure to rescue rooted in her experience as a frontline critical care nurse specialist and nurse educator in South Africa managing a variety of deteriorating patients. Her knowledge of late detection of deterioration and failure to rescue was further augmented by her role as the Patient Safety Officer for a major private hospital group in South Africa. Yolanda has designed and lead large-scale improvement projects for addressing failure to rescue and is particularly interested in the depiction and interpretation of vital signs, and the team dynamics to improve rescue. Yolanda Walsh holds several qualifications, including a master’s degree in health professions education.
