Dr Parkinson’s professional interests include healthcare systems design, quality improvement, sustainability in healthcare, breastfeeding medicine, and board games in education and recreation. She is the co-creator of the game Bed Block, an educational tool for helping all healthcare staff understand their role in whole hospital patient flow systems and how their own practice can influence wider patient flow.
