Joy Warmington

Joy is the Chief Executive of brap, an equality and human rights charity based in Birmingham, UK.
She has a PhD (Middlesex University), an MSc in Organisational Development (Birmingham University), and is also a qualified teacher. She is in the final year of qualifying as a psychotherapist in the field of process orientated psychology.
Joy has a policy background in the fields of education, health, community cohesion and development, and migration. She has been a Non-Executive Director for two NHS trusts (including a mental health trust), a trustee at Migrant Voice, a member of the Department for Communities and Local Government’s Communities Partnership Board, and Chair of Children in Need’s Central Region.
She has a range of skills and qualifications, in social research, teaching, leadership development, coaching and process work, and has written and co-authored many articles and reports on subjects as diverse as implementing organisational change, equality in the voluntary sector, and anti-racism in health and care.
